Muscata trandafir - Pelargonium Royal Rosebud ‘Carmen Andrea’
Pelargonium Royal Rosebud ‘Carmen Andrea’ is an exceptionally beautiful variety of zonal geranium, valued for its large flowers and sturdy appearance. It is a popular choice for decorating balconies, terraces, and gardens, offering a spot of intense and long-lasting color.
Description:
- Flowers: The main attraction of 'Carmen Andrea' is its semi-double to double flowers. The flowers are grouped in dense, spherical clusters that appear abundantly throughout the entire warm season, from spring until the first frosts. The petals are well defined, creating a full and rich look.
- Leaves: The leaves are medium green with a distinct, darker area in the form of a ring or concentric semicircles, typical of zonal geraniums. This area adds an extra decorative element even when the plant is not in bloom. The leaves are slightly lobed, with a velvety texture.
- Habit: It has an upright and compact habit, growing as a well-branched bush. This structure makes it ideal for pots or planters.
- Size: The plant generally reaches a height of about 30-40 cm and a similar width, depending on growing conditions and pruning.
- Winter hardiness: Like most pelargoniums, ‘Carmen Andrea’ is not frost-hardy. In cold winter climates, it should be grown as an annual or overwintered indoors in a bright, cool place with reduced watering.
Key features:
- Vibrant color: Its intense pink brings a special energy to any floral arrangement.
- Large and abundant flowers: Produces a large number of spectacular flowers throughout the season.
- Compact habit: Its well-defined shape makes it versatile for various uses in landscaping and containers.
- Easy care: It is a sturdy and relatively easy-to-care-for plant, requiring conditions similar to other zonal geraniums (full sun, well-drained soil, moderate watering).
- Decorative leaves: The distinctive area on the leaves adds aesthetic value even without flowers.
Care and requirements:
Requires a sunny spot with at least 6 hours of direct daily light and well-drained, nutrient-rich soil. Watering should be moderate, keeping the soil slightly moist with breaks between sessions to avoid overwatering. It is rain-resistant but sensitive to temperatures below 5°C, needing winter protection (moving indoors or storing in a cool, dry place). Removing wilted flowers encourages continuous blooming.
Flower color may vary slightly depending on location and light conditions. This variety is appreciated for its stability in cultivation and ability to withstand difficult conditions.
❗Note: Due to international transport and adaptation to the new environment, geranium leaves may show small defects or partially fall off. These changes are normal and temporary and do not affect the overall health of the plant. The plants grow quickly and recover easily if given optimal conditions.
The plant may arrive to you with or without flowers, but it is capable of blooming throughout the summer.
