Muscata trandafir - Pelargonium Royal Rosebud ‘Carmen Andrea’
Pelargonium Royal Rosebud 'Carmen Andrea' is a particularly beautiful variety of zonal geranium, appreciated for its large flowers and robust appearance. It is a popular choice for decorating balconies, terraces and gardens, providing an intense and long-lasting splash of colour.
Description:
- Flowers: The main attraction of 'Carmen Andrea' are its semi-double to double flowers. The flowers are grouped in dense spherical inflorescences, which appear abundantly throughout the warm season, from spring to the first frosts. The petals are well defined, creating a full and rich appearance.
- Leaves: The leaves are medium green with a distinct, darker area in the form of a ring or concentric semicircles, typical of zonal geraniums. This area adds an additional decorative element even when the plant is not in bloom. The leaves are slightly lobed, with a velvety texture.
- Habit: It has an erect and compact habit, growing as a well-branched bush. This structure makes it ideal for pots or planters.
- Dimensions: The plant generally reaches a height of approximately 30-40 cm and a similar width, depending on growing conditions and the cuts made.
- Winter hardiness: Like most pelargoniums, 'Carmen Andrea' is not frost hardy . In climates with cold winters, it should be grown as an annual or overwintered indoors, in a bright, cool spot, with reduced watering.
Key features:
- Vibrant color: Its intense pink brings a special energy to any floral arrangement.
- Large and abundant flowers: Produces a large quantity of spectacular flowers throughout the season.
- Compact habit: Its well-defined shape makes it versatile for various uses in landscaping and containers.
- Easy maintenance: It is a robust and relatively easy-to-care-for plant, requiring conditions similar to other zonal geraniums (full sun, well-drained soil, moderate watering).
- Decorative leaves: The distinctive area on the leaves adds aesthetic value even without flowers.
Care and requirements:
It requires a sunny location, with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day, and well-drained, nutrient-rich soil. Watering should be moderate, keeping the soil slightly moist, with breaks between sessions to avoid excess water. It is resistant to rain, but sensitive to temperatures below 5°C, requiring winter protection (moving indoors or storing in a cool, dry place). Removing wilted flowers stimulates continuous flowering.
The color of the flowers may vary slightly depending on location and light conditions. This variety is appreciated for its stability in cultivation and its ability to withstand difficult conditions.
❗ Note : Due to international shipping and adaptation to the new environment, geranium leaves may show small defects or may partially fall off. These changes are normal and temporary and do not affect the overall health of the plant. The plants grow quickly and recover easily if given optimal conditions.
The plant may arrive to you with or without flowers , but it is capable of blooming throughout the summer.
