Maslin (Olea europaea) – simbol mediteranean al longevitatii, frumusetii si rezistentei

Olea europaea , known in Romania as the olive tree or olive tree , is an evergreen shrub or tree, native to the Mediterranean regions. It is appreciated both for its ornamental appearance – with silvery, narrow and elegant leaves – and for its cultural and symbolic value. In the right climate, it can become a central element in any garden with Mediterranean or rustic influences.

The olive tree has a slow but steady growth, and over time forms a dense and well-branched crown. It is an ideal choice for decorating sunny terraces, courtyards or gardens, but can also be grown in pots, with wintering indoors in areas with cold winters.

• Soil : well-drained, slightly calcareous, with neutral or slightly alkaline pH

• Fertilization : monthly between March and September, with fertilizer for Mediterranean plants or fruit trees

The plant requires a deep, stable pot if grown in containers. During the winter, it is essential to protect it from frost, especially in the first few years.
