Citrus medica 'Maxima' (Cedo, Citron, Giant Lemons)

Citrus medica 'Maxima' - huge fruits that can even reach a weight of 2kg, with a size of over 30 cm. The taste is also unique - sour pulp, sweet white pith. They can be eaten fresh, sliced thinly (some people prefer to add a little brown sugar) or processed to make various preparations.

Citron (Citrus medica) is one of the historic, basic, or primary citrus species. The ripe fruits are large, with a yellow peel typical of lemons, which represents the most important part of the fruit. The peel is very rough, hard, and exceptionally thick, making up to 70% of the entire fruit. Its color varies greatly depending on the maturity period, from intense green when the fruit is unripe to golden yellow when ripe. The main products obtained from citron are candies and liqueurs, while the oil is a byproduct used as a flavoring in sweets and drinks.

Citrus medica is one of the parents of the lemon and several hybrids often collectively defined as limes - it shares a flavonoid profile similar to lemon and limes.
