Trachelospermum jasminoides cameleon - frunze variegate & flori parfumate
Trachelospermum asiaticum 'Chameleon', often known as Asian jasmine, is a climbing plant from the Apocynaceae family. It is a cultivated variety, popular for its attractive, multicolored leaves.
The leaves are small, glossy, with pointed tips, and change color throughout the season, ranging from green, yellow, pink to bright red, depending on temperature and sun exposure. Flowering occurs during summer, with small, star-shaped, white or cream flowers that are fragrant, especially in the evening.
Trachelospermum asiaticum 'Chameleon' is a relatively hardy and easy-to-care-for plant. It prefers well-drained soil and a partly shaded or sunny spot. This variety of Trachelospermum asiaticum adapts well to indoor conditions and is often used as a houseplant or for covering fences and pergolas.
Regarding frost resistance, this plant can withstand temperatures down to -5 degrees Celsius. However, in winter it should be protected against severe frost, as the leaves and stems can be damaged by freezing. Also, in regions with harsh winters, it may be necessary to grow it in a pot and bring it indoors during the cold season.
