Trachelospermum asiaticum ‘Star of Milano’ is a woody climbing plant, evergreen, which can reach a height of about 3 meters and a width of around 2 meters. Its leaves are oval, glossy, dark green with cream edges, offering an attractive variegated appearance. From May to September, the plant produces an abundance of fragrant, star-shaped, pink flowers that stand out above the foliage.
This variety prefers fertile, well-drained soils and can be planted in full sun or partial shade, although sun exposure is ideal for optimal flowering. ‘Star of Milano’ is drought-tolerant and does not require frequent watering. Although pruning is not essential, if desired, it is recommended to do it at the beginning of spring. The plant is suitable for growing in containers with supports, for green walls, or even as ground cover. It is hardy down to temperatures of -12°C.
