Syringa vulgaris ‘Michel Buchner’ – liliac parfumat cu flori duble, mov-liliachii
Syringa vulgaris ‘Michel Buchner’ is a classic lilac variety, valued for its double, abundant flowers in delicate shades of pink-lilac. In spring, the shrub produces large, strongly fragrant panicles that attract pollinators and create a romantic effect in the garden.
It is one of the most fragrant lilac varieties and is especially appreciated for using the flowers in bouquets.
It is a suitable choice for gardens, yards, large terraces, or romantic arrangements, being one of the lilac varieties with a traditional look but very spectacular during the flowering period.

Growing and Care Conditions
- Light: prefers direct sunlight for abundant flowering. It also tolerates light partial shade, but flowering may be reduced.
- Watering: moderate. After planting, it needs regular watering until established; afterward, it tolerates normal dry periods well.
- Soil: prefers fertile, well-drained soil with neutral to slightly alkaline pH. Does not appreciate heavy, permanently wet soils.
- Fertilization: in spring, an ornamental shrub or flowering plant fertilizer can be applied.
- Pruning: it is recommended to remove spent inflorescences after flowering. Heavier pruning is also done after flowering, as lilac forms flower buds for the next year during the season.
- Cold resistance: it is a very hardy plant for Romanian winters, suitable for permanent garden planting. It can tolerate temperatures around -25°C / -30°C, depending on location, plant maturity, and soil drainage.
