Care
Sinningia requires careful attention, but not overly complicated care, making it accessible even for beginners. Here are some key points for caring for this plant:
- Light: Prefers bright, filtered light. Direct sunlight, especially at midday, can burn the leaves and flowers. An ideal spot would be near a window facing east or west, where it can receive morning or evening sun.
- Watering: The soil should be kept moist but not soaked. Allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly before watering again. Avoid watering directly on the leaves or flowers, as they can be sensitive to water.
- Humidity: Sinningia prefers high humidity. Using a humidifier or placing the plant on a tray with pebbles and water (without the pot base sitting in water) can help maintain the desired humidity level.
- Temperature: Thrives best in temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Protect the plant from cold drafts and large temperature fluctuations.
- Fertilizer: During active growth and flowering, apply a liquid fertilizer for flowering plants once a month, diluted to half the recommended dose on the package.
