Muscata trandafir - Pelargonium Royal Rosebud 'Prinsesse Filippa'
Pelargonium 'Prinsesse Filippa' is a zonal geranium variety from the 'Royal Rosebud' series, named after members of the Danish royal family. It is prized for its delicate flowers with a distinct bud shape, and for its overall robust and charming appearance.
Detailed Description:
- Flowers: The essential characteristic of 'Prinsesse Filippa' are its double flowers, which remain tightly packed, perfectly imitating a rose bud or a mini-tulip even when fully open. The predominant color is a pale, delicate pink , which can intensify towards the edges of the petals or towards the center. They are grouped in round, fairly dense inflorescences, which appear abundantly throughout the flowering season, from spring until the first frosts.
- Leaves: The leaves are medium to light green in color, being relatively bright. They are zonal in type, although the zonation (darker ring) may be less visible compared to other varieties. They have a round, slightly lobed shape, and a soft texture to the touch, and may exude a pleasant fragrance to the touch.
- Habit: The plant has an erect, strong and branched habit, forming a dense and well-structured bush. This robust growth makes it ideal for growing in pots, planters and flower beds, maintaining a tidy appearance.
- Dimensions: 'PRINSESSE FILIPPA' generally reaches a height of approximately 40-50 cm and a similar width, being a medium-sized plant with a considerable presence.
- Winter hardiness: Like all Pelargoniums, it is not frost hardy . In Romania, it is grown as an annual plant or must be wintered indoors, in a bright and cool place, with minimal watering.
Key Features:
- "Rosebud" type: The distinctive shape of the flowers, which remain tightly packed like buds, makes it particularly attractive.
- Delicate and Elegant Color: Its pale and sophisticated pink makes it versatile for various aesthetic combinations and arrangements.
- Abundant and Long Blooming: Offers a continuous floral show throughout the warm season.
- Robust and Branched Habit: Easy to maintain and ideal for pots and planters.
-
Pleasantly Perfumed Leaves: An additional detail that enhances its charm.
Care and requirements:
It requires a sunny location, with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day, and well-drained, nutrient-rich soil. Watering should be moderate, keeping the soil slightly moist, with breaks between sessions to avoid excess water. It is resistant to rain, but sensitive to temperatures below 5°C, requiring winter protection (moving indoors or storing in a cool, dry place). Removing wilted flowers stimulates continuous flowering.
The color of the flowers may vary slightly depending on location and light conditions. This variety is appreciated for its stability in cultivation and its ability to withstand difficult conditions.
❗ Note : Due to international shipping and adaptation to the new environment, geranium leaves may show defects or may lose some of their leaves. These changes are normal and temporary and do not affect the overall health of the plant. The plants grow quickly and recover easily if given optimal conditions.
The plant may arrive to you with or without flowers , but it is capable of blooming throughout the summer.
