Epidendrum orchids are resistant orchids and even bloom several times during the year. Plants adapt amazingly easily to any conditions. Epidendrum prefers higher temperatures, but will tolerate temperatures up to 10 ° C., and is the perfect choice for both beginners and experts.
Orchid Epidendrum Barkeria - a successful primary hybrid, made by hybridizing the botanical species Barkeria spectabilis, from which it inherits the impressive, pink flowers, with successive flowering, and Epidendrum criniferum, which gives it the well-known vigor of the members of the genus, along with the shape of the flower , typical of criniferum, which brings more variation and spectacularity to the level of the labelum and the lobes of the column. In culture, it does not behave differently from the pollinic parent species, namely Barkeria spectabilis, but having a higher resistance than this one.
It prefers moderate to high humidity, of 60-80%, accompanied by abundant ventilation. Irrigation is carried out weekly, as a general rule, allowing the roots to dry, especially in the cold season.
The recommended temperature range is 15 – 22 °C.
Flowering occurs sporadically in any season, but is favored in the cold season.
