Lonicera kamtschatica 'Duet' - Afin siberian
Lonicera kamtschatica "Duet"
, popularly known as Siberian blueberry or honey berries. White flowers appear in May, followed by long green fruits that turn blue when ripe, similar to blueberries, with a sweet-tart, aromatic taste, similar to honey.
Lonicera fruits are very rich in vitamin C and antioxidants - about 5 times richer than blueberries. The Siberian blueberry can grow in any garden, in full sun or partial shade, and withstands temperatures of -25 degrees Celsius.
A mature specimen produces 3-6 kg of fruit, which can be consumed fresh or as jams, preserves, etc.
No phytosanitary treatments required - Lonicera kamtschatica is considered "pest free". No special substrate needed. Although it is a self-fertile variety, for higher productivity it is recommended to have several Lonicera varieties in the garden.
It withstands the garden even at extreme temperatures.
In the cold season, it is sold without leaves.
