Lonicera kamtschatica 'Duet' - Afin siberian
Lonicera kamtschatica 'Duet'
, commonly called the Siberian blueberry or honey berries. The white flowers appear in May, followed by long, green fruits that turn blue when ripe, similar to blueberries, with a sweet and sour, fragrant taste reminiscent of honey.
The fruits of lonicera are very rich in vitamin C and antioxidants - about 5 times richer than blueberries. The Siberian blueberry can grow in any garden, in full sun or partial shade, and withstands temperatures down to -25 degrees Celsius.
A mature specimen produces 3-6 kg of fruit, which can be eaten fresh or made into jams, preserves, etc.
No phytosanitary treatments required - Lonicera kamtschatica is considered "pest free". No special soil needed. Although it is a self-fertile variety, for higher productivity it is recommended to have several varieties of Lonicera in the garden.
It withstands even extreme temperatures in the garden.
In the cold season, it is sold without leaves.
