Oleander, scientifically known as Nerium oleander, is a very popular shrub due to its beautiful and colorful flowers, which can be white, pink, red, salmon or yellow. It is native to the Mediterranean regions, Southwest Asia and China, but has adapted well to many other areas with warm-temperate climates.

Care

• Light : It prefers bright, direct light, ideally placed in a sunny spot.
• Watering : Needs regular watering during warm periods, but allow the soil to dry out partially between waterings. Reduce watering frequency in winter.
• Soil : Prefers well-drained, fertile soils. A mixture of garden soil with sand or perlite can help improve drainage.
• Temperature : It is heat-resistant and can tolerate temperatures as low as -5°C for short periods. However, in areas with cold winters, it is recommended to bring it indoors or to a protected space.
• Fertilizer : Apply fertilizer for flowering plants from spring to fall to support abundant flowering.
• Pruning : Regular pruning, carried out in spring, helps maintain the desired shape and stimulates flowering. You can remove old or damaged branches and shorten too long branches to encourage the growth of new flowers.
