Hoya 'Rebecca' is a commercial hybrid, not a species. Its recognized parentage is Hoya lacunosa 'Langkawi Island' × Hoya obscura. It has a vining habit, with thin stems and oval, pointed, green foliage with lighter veins. In intense light, the leaves may turn reddish, while the veins remain distinctly light. The flowers are fragrant, with pink, fuzzy-velvety corollas and golden-yellow coronas, grouped in umbels. The name Rebecca does not appear as an accepted taxon.

Foliage and growth. The foliage is oval, with a pointed tip, green, and marked by paler veins. In bright light, the leaf blade may take on a reddish hue, while the veins remain light. The plant has a vining growth habit, with thin stems that can be trained onto a support or allowed to trail. Once rooted, the hybrid is horticulturally described as having a good growth rate.

Flowers and fragrance. The flowers have pink corollas with a fuzzy-velvety surface and golden-yellow coronas. They appear in umbels, usually with 15–25 flowers, sometimes more than 20. They are fragrant, with a sweet note according to horticultural sources. Fragrance intensity and the pink hue may vary between specimens.

Horticultural identity. Hoya 'Rebecca' is not a species name. It is a cultivated hybrid. Both parents are accepted species: Hoya lacunosa Blume and Hoya obscura Elmer ex C.M.Burton. 'Langkawi Island' is a cultivar of the species H. lacunosa. The common names Wax Flower or Wax Plant are generic labels for Hoya, not identifiers of this hybrid.

Substrate: use an airy, well-drained mix suitable for epiphytic species. We recommend the professional substrate for Hoya and Anthurium – SG Mix.
