Eucalipt - Eucalyptus parvula (Eucalyptus parvifolia)
Eucalyptus parvula (Eucalyptus parvifolia) - a striking variety native to the east coast of Australia, notable for its blue-green foliage. It is an easy-to-grow shrub, compact, very well branched, evergreen, with rapid growth and high resistance to low temperatures.
Eucalyptus parvula (Eucalyptus parvifolia) can be grown as a specimen plant - it branches extensively, and the crown is very dense.
Eucalyptus naturally acts as a good repellent for flies and mosquitoes, which is why it is often grown on terraces or in gardens. Due to its hardiness, it is also used as a windbreak, for covering fences, and so on.
The foliage is often used in floral arrangements and bouquets because of its appearance and distinctive scent - the plants are pruned several times a year and then branch out quickly. In some countries, this variety is grown and harvested extensively for its hardwood, which can be used in construction, furniture making, or as fuel. The sap extracted from this tree is a good insecticide and natural repellent, also having antiseptic effects - although it is toxic if ingested, it is a common ingredient in insecticides, plant protection treatments, deodorants, and wound-healing creams.
It does not require special soil and is resistant to diseases and pests, being naturally considered "pest free". It withstands temperatures down to -18 °C without needing winter protection. In case of harsher frost, the leaves may fall, but the plant recovers in the next growing season.
The appearance of the leaves and the level of branching can vary from one specimen to another - eucalyptus leaves change as they mature. In warm seasons, these plants may arrive with damaged foliage (tips/dry leaves) - this is due to transport and represents only an aesthetic flaw.
Recommendation: We recommend planting eucalyptus in the garden or in large pots placed outdoors during the summer. It is an outdoor plant and does not do well long-term in small pots. Do not expose the plant to strong sunlight before planting.
Height including pot: approx. 50-60 cm
