Full description and specifications

Eucalyptus stellulata, also known as "Black Sallee" or "Black Sally", is a eucalyptus species endemic to Australia. It is a small to medium-sized tree, with the usual height varying from 10 to 20 meters. The leaves are lanceolate and have a blue-green color.

Eucalyptus stellulata has a straight trunk with a rough, gray or black bark at the base, and the rest of the trunk and branches are covered with a smoother and exfoliating bark.

The flower is white and appears between January and April in Australia (during summer in Romania). Its fruits are conical or cup-shaped, with a thin wall.

Eucalyptus stellulata is found mainly in mountainous areas with high altitudes, on acidic, well-drained soils. In Australia, it is found mainly in the regions of New South Wales and Victoria.

The tree is used for ornamental purposes, for soil rehabilitation, or for the exploitation of noble wood. It is also important for the beekeeping industry, as it provides a rich source of nectar and pollen.

It does not require special soil and is resistant to diseases and pests, being naturally considered "pest free". It withstands temperatures up to -20 °C, without the need for winter protection.

Height with pots included: approx. 60+ cm (varies depending on the season)

The appearance of the leaves can vary from one specimen to another - eucalyptus leaves change as they mature. In the warm season, these plants can arrive at their destination with damaged foliage (dry tips/leaves) - this aspect is due to transport and represents only an aesthetic defect.

Recommendation : We recommend that you plant the eucalyptus in the garden or in large pots, placed outside during the summer. It is an outdoor plant and does not behave well in the long term in small pots. Do not expose the plant to strong sunlight before planting.
