Eucalipt - Eucalyptus pulchella (syn. E. linearis)

Eucalyptus pulchella - a spectacular variety endemic to Tasmania, which impresses with its silvery-blue foliage. The leaves are thin and long, delicate, and at maturity reach a length of up to 12 cm, with a width of approx. 1 cm. It is an easy-to-grow shrub, compact, well-branched, evergreen, with rapid growth and high resistance to low temperatures.

Eucalyptus is naturally a good repellent for flies and mosquitoes, which is why it is often grown on terraces or in gardens. Due to its resistance, it is also used as a forest screen, for covering fences, etc.

The foliage is frequently used in floral arrangements and bouquets, due to its appearance and distinctive scent - the plants are pruned several times a year and then branch out quickly. In some countries, this variety is grown and heavily exploited for its hardwood, which can be used in construction, for furniture pieces, or as fuel. The sap extracted from this tree is a good insecticide and natural repellent.

It does not require special soil and is resistant to diseases and pests, being naturally considered "pest free". It withstands temperatures down to -20 °C without needing protection during winter.

Recommendation: We recommend planting the eucalyptus in the garden or in large pots placed outdoors during the summer. It is an outdoor plant and does not do well long-term in small pots. Do not expose the plant to strong sunlight before planting.
