Eucalyptus gunnii - a spectacular endemic variety from Tasmania, which impresses with its silvery-blue foliage. It is an easy-to-grow shrub, compact, well-branched, evergreen, with rapid growth and high resistance to low temperatures.

Eucalyptus is naturally a good repellent for flies and mosquitoes, which is why it is often grown on terraces or in gardens. Due to its hardiness, it is also used as a forest screen, for covering fences, etc.

The foliage is often used in floral arrangements and bouquets due to its appearance and specific fragrance - the plants are pruned several times a year and then branch out quickly. In some countries, this variety is grown and heavily exploited for its hardwood that can be used in construction, furniture pieces, or as fuel. The sap extracted from this tree is a good insecticide and natural repellent.

In Tasmania and Australia, the plant's sap is used to prepare traditional alcoholic beverages through fermentation. The sap is sweet-aromatic, similar to maple syrup, but is considered toxic if ingested as is.

It does not require special soil and is resistant to diseases and pests, being naturally considered "pest free." It withstands temperatures down to -20 °C without needing protection during winter.

The appearance of the leaves can vary from one specimen to another - the eucalyptus leaves change as they mature. It is expected that the eucalyptus leaves/tips will be affected after transport, but this does not affect the viability of the plants.

Recommendation: We recommend planting the eucalyptus in the garden or in large pots placed outside during the summer. It is an outdoor plant and does not do well long-term in small pots or when grown indoors. Do not expose the plant to strong sunlight before planting.

The transport pots in which the plants come are brittle and can break during handling and transport.
