Eucalyptus cinerea - a striking variety native to Australia, notable for its silvery-blue foliage. It is an easy-to-grow shrub, compact, well-branched, evergreen, with rapid growth and high resistance to low temperatures.

Eucalyptus naturally acts as a good repellent against flies and mosquitoes, which is why it is often grown on terraces or in gardens. Due to its hardiness, it is also used as a windbreak, for covering fences, and similar purposes.

The foliage is frequently used in floral arrangements and bouquets because of its appearance and distinctive scent – the plants are pruned several times a year and then branch out quickly. In some countries, this variety is widely cultivated and harvested for its hardwood, which can be used in construction, furniture making, or as fuel. The sap extracted from this tree is a good insecticide and natural repellent, also having antiseptic effects – although it is toxic if ingested, it is a common ingredient in insecticides, plant protection treatments, deodorants, and wound-healing creams.

Other known names: Silver Dollar, Argyle Apple

It does not require special soil and is resistant to diseases and pests, being naturally considered "pest free". It withstands temperatures down to -18 °C without needing winter protection. In case of harsher frost, the leaves may fall, but the plant recovers in the next growing season.

Height including pot: approx. 60 cm

The appearance of the leaves may vary from one specimen to another – eucalyptus leaves change as they mature.

Note: This variety may show leaves or branches with defects or affected new growth, especially during the warm season – these aspects are due to international transport (these are imported plants), are characteristic of the species (it is a more sensitive variety), and do not affect the plants’ viability.

Recommendation: We recommend planting eucalyptus in the garden or in large pots placed outdoors during the summer. It is an outdoor plant and does not do well long-term in small pots. Do not expose the plant to strong sunlight before planting.

The transport pots in which the plants come are brittle and may break during handling and transport.
