Episcia cupreata 'Silver Screen' is a spectacular tropical cultivar in the Gesneriaceae family, related to the African violet, grown primarily for its ornamental foliage, but also for its delicate flowers. Native to the tropical regions of Central and South America, Episcia is a small, low-growing, creeping plant, ideal for planters, terrariums or hanging pots.

🔹 Recommended growing conditions:

Light: Prefers indirect or filtered light . Avoid direct sunlight, which can burn the leaves. In a well-lit place, the color of the leaves and the flowering will be more intense.

Watering: Constant, but with care. The substrate is kept slightly moist, without excess. Water preferably at the base of the plant, to avoid staining the leaves. It does not tolerate prolonged dryness, but is also sensitive to water stagnation.

Soil: An aerated, well-drained mixture, ideal for African violets, based on peat and perlite.

Humidity: It needs high atmospheric humidity to grow properly. It is ideal for terrariums, mini-greenhouses or humid spaces in the house (e.g. bathroom with natural light).

Recommended temperatures: Warm and constant environments. Protect the plant from cold drafts and low temperatures.

🔹 Care and use:

Pruning: Can be pruned lightly to encourage a compact shape and prevent the stems from becoming too long. Creeping stems can be easily replanted as they root quickly.

Propagation: Extremely easy, through stolons or stem fragments that form roots upon contact with the soil.

Use: Ideal for low decorative pots, plant bowls, hanging baskets or terrarium arrangements. Can also be used as a border plant in tropical greenhouses.

Height with pot included approx. 15 cm

Notes: Specimens may have defects on the leaves.

The price displayed is for a plant without flowers, but most specimens in stock have flowers or buds.
