Coleus Premium Sun 'Ruby Heart' – ruby-leaved coleus

Coleus Premium Sun 'Ruby Heart' is a spectacular cultivar, valued for its large, heart-shaped leaves in deep ruby red, with a thin lime-green / chartreuse margin. The contrast is strong and highly decorative, and the coloring remains attractive throughout the season. PanAmerican Seed describes this cultivar as having ruby leaves with a chartreuse margin that continues onto the undersides of the leaves and the stems.

It is a vigorous variety with an upright, well-branched habit, suitable for pots, planters, patios, or garden planting. The Premium Sun series was selected for good performance in both bright locations and partial shade, while 'Ruby Heart' is especially valued for its color stability and visual impact.

📌 Note

Color intensity may vary depending on light, temperature, and growing conditions. In partial shade, the red-burgundy tones may become very intense, while exposure to bright light may slightly alter the contrast between the center of the leaf and the lime-green margin. Penn State trials even observed increased color intensity in shade.

Coleus leaves are relatively delicate and may develop creases, small tears, spots, or other cosmetic imperfections resulting from handling and transportation. These issues do not normally affect the plant's development.
