Leaf

  • Color : Young leaves have a tan hue, which gradually turns to a dark green as the season progresses, adding an interesting contrast.
  • Shape : The leaves are trifoliate, characteristic of the Clematis montana species, and are arranged alternately on the stems.

Growing conditions

  • Sun exposure : Prefers full sun or partial shade, with the roots ideally placed in shade and the top exposed to light.
  • Soil : It needs rich, well-drained soil with a neutral or slightly acidic pH, kept moist but not overwatered.
  • Watering : Requires regular watering, especially during dry periods.
  • Resistance : Tolerates temperatures down to -20°C, making it suitable for temperate climates.
