Clematis 'Blekitny Aniol' - The beautiful flowers, of a pale blue to purple shade, have a lovely satin sheen on their deeply textured surface. Their ruffled and wavy edges taper to sharp points. At sunset, the wonderful flowers seem to glow.

The flowers are about 10 cm in size. Although the plant is classified in the "Late Large-flowered" category, it is fundamentally a Viticella hybrid and shows similar behavior. The blooming period is long-lasting - starting in June and ending in September.

Classification: Late Large-flowered Group, Viticella

Awards won: RHS Award of Garden Merit

Clematis viticella, also known as Italian clematis, is a vigorous and hardy climbing clematis. Its flowers are usually medium-sized, in various shades of violet, blue, pink, or red, and appear from July to September. Cultivars of this type of clematis are highly valued for their fast growth and abundant flowers, making them ideal for covering fences, pergolas, or other garden structures. It is relatively easy to care for, preferring sun or partial shade and well-drained soil.

Varieties of Clematis viticella are known for very good resistance both to harsh weather and to human actions/gardener mistakes. They require minimal intervention - a light pruning after the flowering period can give a boost for a much quicker rebloom, usually in the same season.

In the cold season, the plants appear as leafless sticks that seem dry - this appearance is perfectly normal and the plants are as viable as can be.
