Brighamia insignis (Hawaiian Palm Tree)
Brighamia insignis (Hawaiian Palm Tree) is a rare plant, protected in the area where it comes from.

It has the opposite growing season, that is, it grows in the winter and has a rest period in the summer. This is the exact opposite of most plants we know.
Due to stress, the Hawaiian Palm can lose many leaves. The stressful conditions are the transition from winter to summer when it suddenly rains, too much water, but also the transport from the greenhouse, to the store, to your home. The yellowing of the leaves is a kind of self-defense mechanism of the plant. Shortly after losing its leaves, it begins to produce new leaves that are adapted to the new conditions.
