Aronia x prunifolia 'Viking'
Aronia prunifolia 'Viking' - Aronia x prunifolia is a natural hybrid between Aronia arbutifolia and Aronia melanocarpa. VIKING is a variety selected for the superior taste of the fruits, the size of the fruits, the extremely abundant production , but also the large height of the bush (approx. 2 m).
Aronia prunifolia 'Viking' can be considered a plant with a double role - both decorative in the arrangement of gardens, and of interest due to the fruits rich in vitamins and anti-oxidants. The plant grows in the form of a bushy shrub, strongly branched, with dark green leaves, which turn red-orange towards the winter.
Flowering takes place in May, the flowers are strongly scented, and the fruits can be harvested in August-September. The fruits left unpicked do not fall and keep well for a long time.
A mature specimen produces a significant amount of fruit, which can be consumed fresh or in the form of jams, jams, drinks, etc. However, it must be taken into account that not all people tolerate the acidic taste of the fruit - from this reason being that their processing is often preferred.
Self-fertile variety. It does not require a special substrate. It does not require maintenance - the cuts will only have an aesthetic purpose. It is very resistant to diseases and pests.
It withstands in the garden even at extreme temperatures up to -30°C.
Note: plants shortened for branching, with new, growing buds.
Pot diameter: 11-14 cm, 2 liters
