Alocasia reginula 'Black Velvet Variegata'
Alocasia reginula "Black Velvet Variegata" is a rare and striking variety of the Alocasia reginula species. It is known for its compact, heart-shaped leaves that have a velvety texture. What sets it apart from the original "Black Velvet" form is the variegation or patterning with various shades of green and cream, which adds a spectacular contrast to the almost black color of the leaves.
This tropical plant is native to Southeast Asia and prefers well-drained soil, high humidity, and strong indirect light. Due to its variegated leaves, this variety may require a greater amount of light than its non-variegated form to maintain the multicolored appearance of the leaves.
Watering should be done moderately; the soil should be allowed to dry partially between waterings to prevent root rot. Fertilizing is best done during the growing season, with a balanced fertilizer, but in moderation.
Note: Alocasia is a sensitive plant. Therefore, you may receive these plants with some leaf blemishes, but these do not affect the plant’s viability.
The decorative pot is not included in the price.
