Abies koreana, also known as the Korean fir, is a conifer native to the mountainous regions of South Korea. This species is valued both for its relatively compact size and its decorative appearance, often used in gardens, parks, and as an ornamental tree, including as a Christmas tree.

The Korean fir grows up to a height of 10-18 meters in its natural environment, but in gardens it rarely exceeds 10 meters. It has a conical, symmetrical crown, with dense branches arranged horizontally. The leaves are needle-like, short, dark green on the upper side, and with two distinct white stripes on the underside, giving it a contrasting and attractive look.

One of the remarkable features of this fir is its decorative cones, which appear at a relatively young age. These are small, cylindrical, measuring 4-7 cm in length, and take on an intense violet-purple color before maturing, making it especially striking in the landscape.

Abies koreana prefers well-drained, slightly acidic soils, and cool, semi-shaded locations. It is frost-hardy and can be grown in a temperate climate, making it ideal for garden landscaping due to its slow growth and distinctive ornamental appearance.

Indoor care conditions: This fir is an outdoor plant but can be kept indoors during the holiday season provided it is placed in a cool area (e.g., a closed/open balcony), well ventilated, and watered when the soil is dry. It does NOT tolerate high temperatures well.

Height including pot: 80+ cm. Measurement is taken from the ground to the top of the fir.
Pot diameter: 24 cm
