Wisteria floribunda or sinensis (wisteria) is a climbing shrub, very popular, native to Japan, China, Korea, and the eastern USA.
There are two species of wisteria grown in gardens:
- wisteria sinensis is vigorous and suitable only for covering large areas. It produces flowers before the leaves appear.
- wisteria floribunda is more compact and better suited for growing in smaller spaces. It produces flowers and leaves almost at the same time.
Care instructions:
Fertilizing: In spring, fertilize wisteria with a potassium-rich fertilizer.
Placement: sunny spot, where it receives at least 6 hours of sunlight daily.
Flowering period: produces very fragrant flowers in spring.
