Rubus loganobaccus 'Thornless Tayberry' is a cross between the North American blackberry (Rubus ursinus) and the European raspberry (Rubus idaeus), created in 1979 in Scotland. The plant has earned a reputation as a super fruit - the fruit is tasty, large in size (up to 4cm!), yields abundantly, and has a high content of vitamins and antioxidants.

From a production point of view, it is considered an incredible shrub, as the fruits appear and ripen in stages starting in June, and in mature specimens fruiting occurs until late autumn. The quantity of fruit is considered very large - yields from specialized farms reach 27 tons/hectare. In the case of specimens planted in private gardens, yields of 35 kg/adult specimen have been reported.

✔️ Key advantages:

Large, elongated fruits, with intense and fragrant taste

Productive and robust hybrid, with vigorous growth

Ripens in June–July, with abundant production

Ideal for fresh consumption, but also for homemade preparations

Very resistant to diseases and cold (down to -20°C)

Cultivation details:

Type of fruiting: on 1-year-old stems (non-remontant)

Harvest period: June–July

Positioning: in full sun

Soil: fertile, well-drained, slightly acidic

Watering: regular, without waterlogging

Height: 1.5–2 m; requires support on a trellis

Recommendation: After fruiting, the stems that have fruited are cut at the base to stimulate the growth of new ones. The plant needs space to develop, being suitable for fences, pergolas, or dense rows.

Height including pot: approx. 30 cm
Pot diameter: 13 cm

Garden or terrace plants are grown in unprotected spaces or with minimal protection (shade nets or hail nets). For this reason, naturally, they cannot have perfect foliage - leaves may show marks, defects, or other damage.

In the cold season, plants enter a period of dormancy.
