Saintpaulia, commonly known as the African Violet, is one of the most beloved houseplants, valued for its compact growth, velvety leaves, and abundant flowering, which can occur repeatedly throughout the year under good growing conditions.

The flowers may be single, semi-double, or double and come in a very wide range of colors, from violet, blue, and pink to red, white, or two-tone combinations. The leaves are fleshy, velvety, and green, forming a compact rosette that is highly decorative even outside the flowering period.
