Tradescantia pallida 'Purpurea' - popularly known as "Apartment Violet" , "Creeping Violet" or "Purple Heart" , is a succulent plant, decorative with its leaves, appreciated for its vibrant purple-purple color and its ability to quickly create a dense and spectacular plant carpet.

It is native to eastern Mexico and is grown both as a houseplant and outdoors in mild climates or as an annual ornamental plant. The long, lanceolate leaves have a slightly metallic sheen, and the flowers are small, pale pink and delicate , appearing at the top of the stems, but the main attraction remains the intensely colored foliage .
