Thunbergia alata ‘Arizona Red’ (Suzana cu ochi negri)
Thunbergia alata ‘Arizona Red’ is a striking variety of the species known for its vivid flowers and tropical appearance. This selection stands out with its intensely colored flowers, in a vibrant shade of carmine red or deep maroon, strongly contrasting with the black center – the characteristic “eye” of the species. It is a climbing or trailing plant, with rapid growth and fresh green, heart-shaped foliage.
Decorative use:
Perfect for window boxes, hanging pots, pergolas, trellises, or sunny balconies. The flowers appear abundantly and continue to bloom all summer until late autumn if well cared for.
Growing conditions:
• Light: prefers full sun or bright partial shade
• Soil: well-drained, lightly fertile
• Watering: regular, without excess – keep the soil moist
• Optimal temperature: 18–28°C
