Strelitzia reginae, also known as "Bird of Paradise", is a spectacular tropical plant, valued for its exotic flowers and large, elegant leaves.

The unique shape of the flowers is associated with the bird of paradise, due to the vivid orange and blue colors.

General description

Leaves: Large, oval, intense green, with a waxy texture. They grow on long, sturdy stems, resembling banana leaves.

Flowers: They have a unique appearance, resembling a bird in flight, with orange petals and blue sepals. Flowering can occur several times a year under optimal conditions.

Dimensions: Can reach 1-2 meters tall, and even more so in its natural habitat.

Care conditions

Light: Requires a lot of light, preferably direct light or very intense indirect light.

Watering: The soil should be kept slightly moist but without excess water; it tolerates dryness better than excessive moisture.

Temperature: Preferred between 18-30°C, but can withstand low temperatures down to approximately 10°C.

Soil: Well-drained, rich in organic matter.

Humidity: It adapts to average air humidity but benefits from occasional misting.

Strelitzia reginae can start blooming after approximately 3-5 years, but this period depends on the growing conditions.

This plant adds a tropical look to any space and is easy to maintain if it receives enough light.

Stock specimens may have leaves with defects due to handling or international transport.

Height is measured including the pot.

Decorative pot is not included in the price.
