Strelitzia reginae H70 (XL specimen)
Strelitzia reginae , also known as the " Bird of Paradise" , is a spectacular tropical plant, prized for its exotic flowers and large, elegant leaves.
The unique shape of the flowers is associated with the bird of paradise, due to the bright orange and blue colors.
General description
• Leaves: Large, oval, deep green, with a waxy texture. They grow on long, sturdy stems, resembling banana leaves.
• Flowers: They have a unique appearance, resembling a bird in flight, with orange petals and blue sepals. Flowering can occur several times a year under optimal conditions.
• Dimensions: It can reach 1-2 meters in height , and in its natural habitat even more.
Care conditions
• Light : Requires a lot of light, preferably direct or very intense indirect light.
• Watering : The soil should be kept slightly moist, but without excess water; it tolerates dryness better than excess moisture.
• Temperature : Preferred between 18-30°C , but can withstand low temperatures down to about 10°C .
• Soil : Well drained, rich in organic matter.
• Humidity : It adapts to average air humidity, but benefits from occasional spraying.
This plant adds a tropical look to any space and is easy to maintain if given enough light.
