Orchid Phalaenopsis mariae - small epiphytic species, adapted to warm to very warm temperatures, native to the Philippines and Borneo, at altitudes of around 600 meters. It grows on trunks and branches of trees in dense shade, having short stems covered by overlapping leaf bases.
It blooms more frequently in summer, on a pendulous lateral peduncle, 35 to 60 cm long, with many flowers. The flowers usually open simultaneously, and are strongly scented.
