Chingruey's Goldstaff Phalaenopsis orchid - a complex hybrid, brand Ching Ruey Orch., registered at the Royal Horticultural Society in 2000, stands out for its compact port, mini stature, an aspect that recommends it even for small spaces, and easy growing conditions, which it raises problems even for beginners, being cared for similarly to common Phalaenopsis hybrids ( see the Phalaenopsis orchid care guide on the Blog ).
The parents of this hybrid are Phalaenopsis ambonosa (amboinensis x venosa), as the seminal parent, and Taisuco Jewel, as the pollen parent. The complete parental formula includes Phal. equestris 27.82%, Phal. amboinensis 26.17%, Phal. venous 25.0%, Phal. amabilis 6.55%, Phal. amabilis subsp. amabilis 5.77%, Phal. Aphrodite 2.77%, Phal. Sanderiana 1.56%, Phal. Lueddemanniana 1.29%, Phal. schilleriana 1.2%, Phal. aphrodite subsp. formosana 0.3%, unknown 0.3%, Phal. stuartiana 0.21%, Phal. pulcherrima 0.2%.
