Muscata trandafir - Pelargonium Hybrid Rosebud
Pelargonium Rosebud is a remarkable variety of zonal geranium from the "rosebud" category, highly valued for its uniquely shaped flowers and delicate colors. It is an excellent choice to add a touch of elegance and a full appearance to any space, whether in pots, window boxes, or gardens.
Detailed Description:
- Flowers: The main feature of 'Rosebud' is its double, dense flowers, which maintain a compact shape resembling a rosebud or a miniature tulip, even when fully open. The flowers are grouped in round, very full clusters that appear abundantly throughout the warm season, from spring until the first frosts.
- Leaves: The leaves are medium to dark green, typical of zonal geraniums, and display a zonation (a darker ring). They are round, slightly lobed, and have a softly velvety texture, creating a beautiful backdrop for the bright flowers.
- Habit: The plant has an upright and compact habit, developing a well-branched and dense bush. This robust growth makes it excellent for growing in pots, window boxes, or as a centerpiece in mixed arrangements, maintaining a neat and full appearance.
- Size: 'Rosebud' generally reaches a height of about 30-45 cm and a similar width, being a medium-sized plant, versatile in various gardening contexts.
- Winter Hardiness: Being a tropical geranium by origin, it is not frost-hardy. In Romania, it is grown as an annual or must be overwintered indoors, in a bright and cool place, with minimal watering during the resting period.
Key Features:
- "Rosebud" Type: Its double, bud-shaped flowers give it a distinctive look and special charm, setting it apart from traditional geraniums.
- Abundant and Long-Lasting Bloom: Produces a multitude of flowers throughout the entire warm season, ensuring a spectacular and constant display.
- Compact and Robust Habit: Easy to maintain and ideal for container growing, offering a well-structured plant.
- Decorative Zoned Leaves: Adds visual interest even in the absence of flowers.
Care and Requirements:
Requires a sunny spot with at least 6 hours of direct daily light and well-drained, nutrient-rich soil. Watering should be moderate, keeping the soil slightly moist, with breaks between watering to avoid excess moisture. It is rain-resistant but sensitive to temperatures below 5°C, needing winter protection (moving indoors or storing in a cool, dry place). Removing wilted flowers encourages continuous blooming.
Flower color may vary slightly depending on location and light conditions. This variety is appreciated for its stability in cultivation and ability to withstand challenging conditions.
❗Note: Due to international transport and adaptation to the new environment, geranium leaves may show small defects or partially fall off. These changes are normal and temporary and do not affect the overall health of the plant. The plants grow quickly and recover easily if given optimal conditions.
The plant may arrive to you with or without flowers, but it is capable of blooming throughout the summer.
