Parthenocissus tricuspidata 'Veitchii' (also known as Boston ivy 'Veitchii' or Virginia creeper 'Veitchii') is an exceptional vigorous deciduous climbing plant from the Vitaceae family, native to East Asia (Japan, China, Korea).

It is famous for its spectacular autumn foliage, which turns a bright intense red, almost purplish, creating a dramatic effect on walls, fences, or pergolas. The plant grows quickly (up to 10-20 m tall), with trifoliate leaves (3 lobes), glossy dark green in summer, turning bright red in autumn. It clings to supports with adhesive tendrils without damaging walls.

The flowers are small and green, insignificant, but in autumn small dark blue berries appear, decorative for birds.

Main features:

  • Size: large, fast climber (10-20 m)
  • Leaf type: trifoliate, glossy, green in summer - bright red in autumn
  • Autumn color period: October-November (one of the most intense colorations)
  • Fruits: dark blue berries, attractive to birds

Simple and practical care:

  • Light: full sun or partial shade (more intense color in sun)
  • Temperature: very frost hardy (down to -20°C), USDA zones 4-8
  • Watering: moderate, tolerates drought well once established
  • Soil: any well-drained type, adaptable
  • Pruning: can be trimmed in spring to control size
  • Support: walls, fences, pergolas – self-clinging

An excellent choice for quickly covering facades, fences, or walls. Provides shade in summer and a color spectacle in autumn! Vigorous, easy to grow, and low maintenance – perfect for large gardens or urban spaces.

Frost resistance: -20°C
Price is for 1 plant.

Pot diameter: 11 cm

Height including pot: approx. 60-70 cm

Garden or terrace plants are grown in unprotected or minimally protected spaces (shade nets or hail nets). For this reason, naturally, they may not have perfect foliage – leaves may show marks, defects, or other damage.

In the autumn-winter season, plants are sold without leaves.
