Care Notocactus leninghausii
Light :
- It prefers direct sunlight, but can also tolerate filtered light during periods of intense exposure.
- In homes, place the cactus near a sunny window, facing south or west.
Temperature :
- It tolerates warm temperatures well, between 20°C and 30°C.
- It is sensitive to frost; the minimum acceptable temperature is approximately 5°C.
Soil :
- It needs a well-drained soil, specific for cacti and succulents.
- A universal soil mixture with the addition of coarse sand or perlite is ideal to prevent water stagnation.
Watering :
- Water the plant moderately in the warm season (spring and summer), only when the soil is completely dry.
- In the cold season (autumn and winter), watering must be significantly reduced, almost stopped, to respect the period of vegetative rest.
- Avoid excessive watering, which can cause root rot.
Fertilization :
- Apply a weak liquid fertilizer for cacti and succulents once a month, during the growth period (spring and summer).
- Do not fertilize in winter, when the plant is at rest.
Replanting :
- Replant every 2-3 years or when the plant exceeds the size of the pot.
- Use a pot with good drainage and a fresh substrate.
Height with pot included 10 cm
The plant is sold without flowers.
