Bulbs in pots need nothing more than water to bloom. After a while, the flower will wilt and later the leaves will dry out. It is time for the bulb to be carefully removed from the soil, wrapped in newspaper and stored in a cool, dry place.
This can be replanted in the fall in a pot and if you water it well and keep it indoors, it will bloom right around Christmas. If you decided to plant it directly in the garden, the plant will sprout and bloom in March-April the following year.
