Rubus fruticosus 'Loch Ness' is a variety of blackberry without thorns, self-fertile, which produces black, very large (around 4g) and long, aromatic fruits, starting in mid-July.

Variety awarded by the RHS with the Award of Garden Merit.

Rubus fruticosus 'Loch Ness' is appreciated due to the very high productions and superior quality of the fruits. Variety of medium vigor, compact, which requires support (trellis, mesh fence, etc.).

Remontant variety - produces fruit between July and September.
For optimal results, placement in a sunny area and irrigation during the warm season is recommended. In spring, when the lianas exceed 1m, it is recommended to break the tip in order to branch and to increase production. At the beginning of winter, the old lianas can be cut to favor the appearance of new growths in the following season - it bears fruit on the annual growths.

Withstands temperatures up to - 25 °C. The plant is very resistant to diseases and pests.
