Mentha piperita 'Chocolate' is a hybrid between Mentha aquatica ( watermint) and Mentha spicata (spearmint). This variety is appreciated for the specific aroma of mint to which a discreet note of chocolate is added. It is a fantastic variety for lemonades, ice creams, cocktails and culinary preparations, but just like the other types of mint it has many medicinal properties.

It resists the cold just like the traditional varieties and is considered pest-free, the specific smell and the essential oils it contains being a good repellent.
