Magnolia 'Genie' - flori incredibile, uriase, parfumate

Magnolia 'Genie' is a special cultivar, famous worldwide. The plant stands out through its large flowers (approx. 15 cm), oval-shaped, richly colored in shades of crimson, almost black, and fragrant. The blooms are very abundant, long-lasting, and tend to appear again once during the summer if the climate conditions are favorable.

This impressive Magnolia cultivar was developed by the botanist Vance Hooper, an enthusiast of the genus. Magnolia “Genie” is the result of 15 years of breeding within a line of Magnolia soulangeana and Magnolia liliiflora, resulting in a compact hybrid that produces large masses of huge flowers, blooming freely over a period of 3 months.

The plant is extremely frost-hardy – which means there is little chance that the flowering will be lost due to late frosts.

Size at maturity. It is a medium-sized tree, growing up to a height of 3-4 meters, making it suitable for small gardens and limited spaces.

General appearance: The foliage is dark green, creating a beautiful background that further highlights the contrast with the dark-colored flowers.
