Lonicera henryi 'Copper Beauty' - parfum puternic, foliaj spectaculos permanent verde
Lonicera henryi "Copper Beauty" is a variety of evergreen climbing honeysuckle, native to China, highly valued for its glossy, persistent foliage, in metallic shades and for its delicate, tubular flowers in shades of yellow-orange with some reddish accents, which bloom from June to August. The plant forms a dense mass of vegetation and is ideal for quickly covering trellises, fences, or walls, providing both decorative value and visual protection.
Lonicera henryi produces edible fruits - although they don't taste great (personal opinion), they are considered medicinal in Asian culture.
It is an excellent choice for shady or semi-shady gardens, being one of the few honeysuckle species that keeps its leaves throughout the winter in milder climate regions.
✔️ Key advantages:
• Persistent foliage, dark green and glossy
• Tubular, fragrant flowers in shades of yellow and reddish orange
• Vigorous and dense climbing plant
• Fast and effective coverage of vertical surfaces
• Frost resistance: up to approx. -15°C (protected, foliage is retained even in winter)
Cultivation details:
• Plant type: perennial, semi-evergreen/evergreen climber
• Mature height: 3–5 m (with support)
• Positioning: prefers partial shade but also tolerates sun
• Soil: fertile, well-drained, with moderate moisture
• Watering: constant, especially in the first years
• Flowering: June–August
Recommendation: It can be used both as a climbing plant and as ground cover on slopes or inclined spaces. Light pruning after flowering is recommended to control the shape.
Height including pot: approx. 50-60 cm
Pot diameter: 15 cm
Garden or terrace plants are grown in unprotected spaces or with minimal protection (shade nets or hail nets). For this reason, naturally, they cannot have perfect foliage - the leaves may show marks, defects, or other damage.
This variety loses its leaves when grown in a pot - during the autumn, winter, and spring seasons it will be delivered without leaves.
