Iasomie - Jasminum sambac - deosebit de parfumata
Symbol of purity and sensuality, Jasminum sambac has impressed the whole world.
It is a variety of jasmine with aromatic properties and double white flowers, strongly scented. As they mature, the flowers turn shades of pink.
In China, the flowers are used to prepare the famous jasmine teas. In France, the plant has inspired countless perfumes created by designers. Worldwide, Jasminum sambac oil is a symbol of romance and is widely used as an aphrodisiac, while the cosmetics industry includes it in creams, shampoos, soaps, and more.
Last but not least, the plant has been awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Award by the RHS.
The flowers of Jasminum sambac show great variability, possibly as a result of spontaneous mutations, natural hybridization, and self-pollination. Although it is usually a double-flowered variety, in some cases the flowers will be single or mixed.
