Hoya australis , native to Indonesia, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Samoa, Tonga and Vanuatu, Australia, has glossy green leaves. New shoots may be red.
Hoya australis flowers last for a week and have the most incredible, strongly spicy fragrance.
Characteristics: Hoya Australis grows and blooms easily, on a mature stem. After the buds appear, the location should not be changed, as the buds may fall off. It is recommended for beginners, as it is easy to root in permeable soil. All varieties of the H. australis complex are very decorative, are not demanding in care and bloom well from August to November.
Popular names: Tear of the Virgin Mary, Wax Flower.
