Gymnocalycium horstii , also known as Spider Cactus , is a globular cactus native to southern Brazil, much loved by collectors for its unique appearance. At maturity, it produces large, spectacular flowers, in shades of pale pink to white, which open during the day and create an elegant contrast with the dark green body of the plant.
