Bonsai - Ficus microcarpa Retusa

Ficus microcarpa Retusa is a plant species from the Ficus genus, native to Southeast Asia and Australia. It is a popular houseplant due to its dense leaves and compact growth. This species of ficus is often mistaken for Ficus retusa or Ficus ginseng, but all belong to the same plant family, Moraceae.

The leaves are usually oval or elliptical in shape, with slightly rounded tips. The foliage is dark green, providing a strong contrast to the lighter-colored stems. The plant can grow either as a shrub or a small tree, depending on the growing conditions and care.

In its natural environment, Ficus microcarpa Retusa can reach heights of up to 20 meters, but indoors or as a bonsai, its size is much smaller. As a houseplant, it is relatively easy to maintain. It prefers indirect light and well-drained soil. It is sensitive to sudden changes in temperature and humidity, so it is best placed in a stable location.
