Eucalyptus - Eucalyptus 'Moon Lagoon' bush (dwarf cultivar)
Eucalyptus 'Moon Lagoon' - special cultivar, which presents a unique foliage - the leaves are small, oval-pointed and silvery. It is an easy-to-grow, compact, well-branched shrub, green all year round, with fast development and high resistance to low temperatures. This eucalyptus is a natural hybrid between Eucalyptus kruseana and Eucalyptus latens, naturally occurring in Australia, on the Moon Lagoon property, hence the name of the plant.
Eucalyptus 'Moon Lagoon' is naturally a dwarf cultivar that branches very well and does not exceed a height of 3 m. The leaves are silvery when young, but turn blue-green when mature (as in the case of other Eucalyptus varieties). In order to keep a "silver" appearance as possible, it is recommended to do regeneration haircuts during the growing seasons.
Eucalyptus is naturally a good repellent for flies and mosquitoes, which is why it is often grown on terraces or in gardens. Due to its resistance, it is also used as a forest curtain, to cover fences, etc.
The foliage is frequently used in flower arrangements and bouquets, due to its specific appearance and fragrance - the plants are cut several times a year, and then they branch out quickly. In some countries, this variety is grown and massively exploited for its hard wood that can be used in construction, for furniture or as fuel. The sap extracted from this tree is a good natural insecticide and repellent.
It is recommended to carry out some spring cuts to stimulate branching and the appearance of a large number of new growths.
It does not require special soil and is resistant to diseases and pests, being naturally considered "pest free". It withstands temperatures up to -18 °C, without the need for winter protection.
Note: It is possible that this variety has leaves/branches with defects or affected new growth, especially in the warm season - these aspects are due to international transport (they are imported plants), are characteristic of the species (it is a more sensitive variety) and do not influence plant viability.
The decorative ceramic bowl is not included in the price.
Height with pots included: approx. 30 cm
Recommendation : We recommend that you plant the eucalyptus in the garden or in large pots, placed outside during the summer. It is an outdoor plant and does not behave well in the long term in small pots. Do not expose the plant to strong sunlight before planting.
