Full description and specifications

Eucalyptus dalrympleana, also known as Eucalyptus of the White Mountain or Broad-leaved Kindling Bark, is an imposing tree, with a vigorous bearing and a height that can exceed 30 meters.

Eucalyptus dalrympleana is distinguished by its perennial, elongated, silver-green foliage. In contrast to most eucalypts, its leaves remain wide and oval as the tree grows.

The bark is another defining element for this species. The smooth bark, which exfoliates annually, shows shades of white and gray, adding a distinctive charm to this tree. In warm seasons, the bark peels off in long strips, revealing a new layer of cream or pink color.

The flowers, white or cream in color, appear in the middle of summer, bringing more attractiveness. The flowers are grouped in globular inflorescences, being a source of nectar for bees.

Eucalyptus dalrympleana is also widely used in forestry for its valuable wood, as well as its cough and congestion relief properties when used in eucalyptus oil products.

It does not require special soil and is resistant to diseases and pests, being naturally considered "pest free". It withstands temperatures up to -20 °C, without the need for winter protection.

Height with pots included: approx. 60+ cm (varies depending on the season)

The appearance of the leaves can vary from one specimen to another - eucalyptus leaves change as they mature. In the warm season, these plants can arrive at their destination with damaged foliage (dry tips/leaves) - this aspect is due to transport and represents only an aesthetic defect.

Recommendation : We recommend that you plant the eucalyptus in the garden or in large pots, placed outside during the summer. It is an outdoor plant and does not behave well in the long term in small pots. Do not expose the plant to strong sunlight before planting.
